Avishai Abrahami is an entrepreneur and computer scientist who co-founded Wix.com, an Israeli software company that provides web development and hosting services. He is also a member of the board of directors at Google.
Abrahami was born in Tel Aviv, Israel, in 1976. He earned his bachelor’s degree in computer science from the Technion – Israel Institute of Technology in 1999. After serving in the Israel Defense Forces for two years, he began working as a software engineer for IBM in Haifa, Israel.
In 2006, Abrahami and two other co-founders, Nadav Arbel and Giora Kaplan, launched Wix.com. The company allows users to create HTML5 websites and mobile sites through online drag-and-drop tools.
Wix.com has over 110 million users in 190 countries. The company went public on the Nasdaq Stock Market in 2013, and today it has a market capitalization of over $4 billion.
Abrahami serves on the board of directors at Google and several other companies and organizations. He is a serial entrepreneur who has co-founded several other startups, including Appixia, an app development platform, and Voopter, an airfare search engine.
Abrahami is an active philanthropist, and he and his wife have established the Avi & Tali Abrahami Foundation to support education and entrepreneurship in Israel.
